Inclusive Global Opportunity

Through Pop Up Japan, we aim to create a world where everyone can seize global opportunities and take on challenges. There are countless wonderful cultures in Japan and around the world that remain largely undiscovered.

Take, for example, a small local restaurant in a Japanese region. Although its flavors and atmosphere are truly exceptional, even Japanese people living in the metropolitan areas are largely unaware of its existence, let alone people from overseas. This is not limited to food; there are incredible places, cultures, and technologies that deserve to be shared with the world.

This lack of awareness stems from an inability to effectively disseminate such valuable information. We are committed to breaking down these barriers and providing support for cross-border communication.

Koki Takahashi

Koki Takahashi

Originally hailing from Aomori Prefecture, Japan, his journey has been marked by diverse experiences. He've had the privilege of studying in Australia and engaging in business endeavors in Nepal.

Upon completing my university education, my career took a significant turn as I joined a company specializing in the recruitment of foreign professionals. Here, I took on a multifaceted role encompassing B2B planning, involvement in public projects, sales activities, and the oversight of daily operations.

Subsequently, I ventured into a pivotal position within a nationwide IT company that caters to the construction industry, where I assumed a comprehensive management role.

At Pop Up Japan, our commitment is unwavering in terms of closely supporting our clients' growth and actively contributing to their development. Our vision encompasses various facets, starting with reaching out to foreigners intrigued by Japan through media outreach. We have ambitious plans for the future, which encompass expanding into areas such as inbound business, translation services, capitalizing on international networks, and providing invaluable support for overseas expansion.

M. Deri Laksamana Putra

M. Deri Laksamana Putra

Deri, born in Indonesia in May 1993, earned a Bachelor’s degree in Advertising from the University of Indonesia and studied abroad in ASEAN Studies at Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. He later pursued a Postgraduate degree in Business Administration, specializing in Media Management, at the University of Cumbria, England.

 

Deri’s career journey began as a Planning Operation and Market Researcher at CFLD International, a real estate company headquartered in Singapore, with projects based in Tangerang, Indonesia. Subsequently, he advanced his career by joining the global recruiting firm Fourth Valley Concierge, based in Tokyo, Japan, initially working as a Web Marketer before transitioning to DerbySoft, an American software company specializing in metasearch for Hotel B2B business, also based in Tokyo. Additionally, he serves as a part-time university lecturer in Indonesia, teaching digital business, marketing, and entrepreneurship.

 

In July 2023, he co-founded Pop Up Japan alongside Koki and Saki, with a mission to boost media exposure for local businesses in rural Japan. His goal is to share the success stories of Japan’s local SMEs with the world.

Saki Kato

Saki Kato

Born in 1997 and originally from Mie Prefecture, Japan, I embarked on a transformative journey during my university years when I studied abroad at Griffith University in Australia. It was there that I witnessed the beauty of a multicultural society, and I realized the importance of such a society in Japan, a nation facing the challenges of an aging population. I became convinced that Japan should strive to create a society where people from all backgrounds can live harmoniously.

 

In alignment with this vision, I joined a company that specializes in foreign talent recruitment, as I resonated deeply with their corporate mission. My primary responsibility was in B2B marketing, where I dedicated myself to spreading awareness about the benefits of hiring foreign professionals to a wider array of companies. Subsequently, my exploration of global cuisines rekindled my appreciation for the excellence of Japanese cuisine. To promote Japanese food culture, I ventured into new business development within a company engaged in e-commerce.Looking ahead, my goal is to create opportunities for people around the world to experience the delights of Japanese cuisine.

 

At Pop Up Japan, I’m committed to disseminating valuable information for foreigners interested in Japan. I, especially, feel a strong connection to my hometown in the countryside, and I am passionate about showcasing the allure of rural areas and contributing to the growth of local economies.
